Three days ago I looked at my Instagram account and I realized I only had 500 something followers on Greenhouse Communications. I created Greenhouse Communication’s Instagram sometime in 2016!
How could business owner’s possibly believe that I could help them with social media marketing when my following sucks?
Yes, I post content that gets pretty decent views, likes and comments. Sometimes I even get re-grammed. I even believe that the number of followers isn’t even the most important part of social media marketing.
But, there’s still something about the number of followers that is intriguing.
So, I did something that I should’ve done a year ago. I promised to treat myself like a client and set my business a new goal to earn 1,000 followers in ten days. I am on day 3 and already received over 300 new followers on top of still managing my client’s social media.
Here is what I have done to get over 300 followers the past 3 days:
- I created a private Pinterest board and pinned accounts that I aspire to look like
- I went to those accounts and followed their followers
- I interacted with hashtags that relate to my ideal clients and followed them
- Interacting with accounts I already follow
I believe in using Instagram to build a real community. With a real strategy and putting in the effort you too can achieve this. If you are a busy business owner and don’t have the time to worry about social media, email me firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss how I can help you!
I will keep everyone updated on my Instagram journey!
